A well-established, optometrist-owned private practice with multiple locations in the greater Kansas City area is seeking optometrists to join its growing team. This opportunity is primarily based in Leavenworth, KS, with some coverage at nearby locations in Bonner Springs and De Soto.

The practice offers a blend of primary and medical eye care, advanced diagnostic technology, strong technician support, and flexibility to pursue individual clinical interests. With two openings available, the owners are seeking personable, team-oriented ODs interested in building a long-term career within a collaborative private practice.

Overview

• Comprehensive primary eye care and ocular disease management, with approximately 30% medical care at the Leavenworth location
• Cataract and refractive surgery pre- and post-operative management
• Pediatric eye care, with flexibility based on the doctor’s interests and comfort level
• Specialty contact lens services, including scleral lenses, with internal referral support
• Dry eye management, with access to IPL and RF treatments at a nearby location
• Advanced technology at every location, including Zeiss OCT, Optos, and visual field testing
• Dedicated technicians handling pretesting, allowing doctors to focus on patient care
• Approximately 17–22 patients per day, depending on location
• Revolution EHR

Schedule

• Flexible 4- or 4.5-day workweek
• Primarily Monday–Friday
• Fridays end at 3:00 PM
• Approximately 2–3 Saturday mornings per year, shared among providers
• Schedule and location mix determined collaboratively based on practice needs and preferences

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary based on $69 per hour
• Quarterly production bonuses, typically ranging from $9,000–$15,000 per doctor per quarter
• Employer-paid health insurance premiums
• 401(k) with automatic 3% employer contribution after eligibility requirements are met
• Approximately 18 days of PTO for a 4.5-day schedule, with rollover and unused PTO payout options
• $2,000 annual continuing education allowance
• AOA and Kansas Optometric Association dues covered
• Future buy-in opportunity for interested associates

Minimum Qualifications

• Doctor of Optometry (O.D.) degree
• Kansas optometry license or ability to obtain
• Strong clinical and interpersonal skills
• Interest in comprehensive eye care and a collaborative private practice environment
• New graduates and experienced optometrists welcome
