An established refractive surgery practice in the San Francisco Bay Area is seeking a full-time optometrist to join its clinical team. This is an excellent opportunity for an OD interested in refractive surgery, advanced vision correction, and surgical co-management while caring for a manageable patient volume in a highly specialized setting.
The position is heavily focused on refractive and surgical eye care rather than traditional optical optometry. The incoming doctor will evaluate and manage patients throughout their vision correction journey, including consultations, pre-operative evaluations, and post-operative care for procedures such as LASIK, ZEISS SMILE, EVO ICL, Refractive Lens Exchange, and premium cataract surgery.
Doctors typically see approximately 20 patients per day, with a mix of surgical consultations, pre-operative examinations, and post-operative visits. Clinical technicians are available to assist with patient care and testing, and the OD will work closely with experienced refractive surgeons to coordinate care and achieve excellent surgical outcomes.
Clinical responsibilities also include comprehensive examinations, refractions, IOP measurements, dilated exams, gonioscopy, diagnosis and management of ocular conditions, and development of individualized treatment plans.
Schedule & Locations
- Full-time, five days per week
- Typical hours approximately 8:30 AM–4:30 PM
- Primarily based in Santa Clara, with approximately 1–2 days per week in San Ramon
- Approximately 1–2 Saturdays per month
- Providers remain at one location for the entire workday
Compensation & Benefits
- Up to $700 per day, depending on experience

Minimum Qualifications
- Doctor of Optometry (O.D.) degree
- Active California optometry license
- Interest in refractive surgery and surgical co-management
- Refractive surgery management experience preferred
- Strong clinical and communication skills
- Willingness to work between the Santa Clara and San Ramon locations
