Refractive Optometrist Opportunity | Advanced Vision Correction | San Francisco Bay Area

An established refractive surgery practice in the San Francisco Bay Area is seeking a full-time optometrist to join its clinical team. This is an excellent opportunity for an OD interested in refractive surgery, advanced vision correction, and surgical co-management while caring for a manageable patient volume in a highly specialized setting. We are seeking candidates who are fluent in English as well as either Spanish or Vietnamese to best serve the needs of the patient base.

The position is heavily focused on refractive and surgical eye care rather than traditional optical optometry. The incoming doctor will evaluate and manage patients throughout their vision correction journey, including consultations, pre-operative evaluations, and post-operative care for procedures such as LASIK, ZEISS SMILE, EVO ICL, Refractive Lens Exchange, and cataract surgery.

Doctors typically see approximately 20 patients per day, with a mix of surgical consultations, pre-operative examinations, and post-operative visits. Clinical technicians are available to assist with patient care and testing. The OD will maintain their own patient schedule while collaborating closely with the practice’s refractive surgeons as needed to discuss cases and coordinate care.

The practice is primarily focused on elective refractive surgery, meaning the OD is not expected to maintain a traditional optical patient base or participate in routine vision-plan panels. Specialty contact lens fitting is also not a significant component of the position.

Schedule & Locations

• Full-time, five days per week
• Typical hours approximately 8:30 AM–4:30 PM
• Practice locations in Santa Clara and San Ramon
• Approximately 1–2 Saturdays per month in Santa Clara
• Saturday hours approximately 9:00 AM–3:30 PM, paid at the full daily rate

Compensation & Benefits

• $520–$600 per day, depending on experience

Minimum Qualifications

• Doctor of Optometry (O.D.) degree
• Active California optometry license
• Fluent in English and Spanish OR English and Vietnamese
• Strong clinical and communication skills
• Interest in refractive surgery and surgical co-management
• Refractive surgery experience preferred, but new graduates and doctors from other clinical backgrounds will be considered
