The Practice Manager reports to the Managing Physician and is responsible for managing daily operations of the office, personnel management and ensuring policies and procedures are followed. The Practice Manager leverages administrative and clinical knowledge to coordinate efficient operations management.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

The individual in this position will be responsible for, but not limited to the following:

  • Oversee execution of all aspects of daily operations of divisional practice location including patient access-schedule and flow, analysis & reporting, revenue cycle support, provider, PSR, clinical & surgical services scheduling
  • Analyze and report practice performance metrics and key performance indicators (KPI) monthly.
  • Supervise staff including patient access/front office, revenue cycle, clinical services, surgery services, and optical.
  • Recruit, hire, performance manage and retain staff through annual performance evaluation process. Resolve employee grievances and personnel issues and create high levels of employee satisfaction.
  • Develop employees with focus on growth and succession for employee retention.
  • Guide employees through challenging HR situations and help them avoid common pitfalls that can further complicate the situation.
  • Assure compliance with OSHA, HIPAA, and other state and federal healthcare regulations.
  • Maintain and utilize current knowledge of ophthalmic ICD-10, Medicare, HCPCS, third party payor and CPT coding and compliance issues to meet practice objectives.
  • Review and ensure compliance with MIPS requirements
  • Develop, monitor, report and improve on continual basis, coding, billing and collections procedures.
  • Supervise development and administration of physician and staff schedules for meeting daily patient care and surgery requirements with high patient satisfaction.
  • Administrate  systems and controls to ensure that all receipts, payments and handling of practice monies is done using generally accepted accounting procedures. Manage bank reconciliation and deposits.
  • Manage and coordinate maintenance and repairs of office equipment and facilities.

Minimum Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or healthcare discipline with 5 years of experience in multi-site, multi-provider medical practice management, ophthalmology preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience and successive growth and accomplishments in healthcare operations management.

Information Technology Skills:

  • Facile with Microsoft Products: MS Excel, MS Word.
  • Facile with high speed data transmission and telecommunications hardware and software
  • Within 4 weeks of hire must be facile with Practice PMS/EMR

Physical/Environmental Requirements

  • Must be able to stand or sit for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to ambulate.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively.
  • Must be able to hold arms at shoulder height.
  • Must be able to communicate via phone.
  • Must have manual dexterity and/or verbal facility to work with IT interface and phones.

Compensation is a competitive Guaranteed base + production incentives. DOE and Negotiable
